Mercury 9.8 ignition problem

[9.8 Mercury]

I have a electric start 9.8 Mercury (serial #8080960). It is not gettin any spark on either cylinder. I have ruled out spark plugs, kill switch, and spark plug wires. Does anyone know what to begin testing other than that? I have a new CD switch box (mercury part #339-6222A10) coming from Ebay. I glanced at the motor this weekend and read mercury part #339-6222A4 on it. Will these parts interchange? Do you recommend changing out the switch box and seeing if that solves the problem or not. I am fearful of burning up the new CD switch box because of its price. If yall have any tips, I would be glad to hear them. Thank you for your time.

And build yourself a DVA adapter for a multimeter. Then we can start to test stator and trigger outputs....

A quick check using resistance measurements can be found using this table.... But ultimately you should be using a DVA adapter and measuring voltage outputs....
