mercury 9.8 what year do i have?

just got a mercury 9.8 with a tin boat i bought. i cant seem to find the year, and it does not come up when i type the serial number on the parts sites.
its black in color (lol) and the serial number is 2294156. it is a 9.8.

I have a 1969 7.5 hp Mercury, which I believe is the smaller cousin to the 9.8. Parts seem to be a bit hard to come by, depending on what you need. They are nice motors though.
