couple of weeks ago i started asked a question about my motor loosing power. Thanks to all that answer. The common denominator in the answers I got it was to change the switch boxes, so I did that It didn't solve the problem.I check the compression on all cylinders and they are in between 145 and 155 so no problem there ,I'm not getting spark in holes #1 3 or 5. I'm going to replace the coils tomorrow any other idea what it can be (beside the trigger I'm hopping not to have to take the top off) and can somebody explain to me what the trigger do and how this ignition actually work. Thanks

Re: mercury 90 ignition problem

Don't change the coils there is a 90% chance the stator went bad swap the red to the red.white and the blue to the blue/white termials on the switch boxes then ck the spark if it followed the wire the stator is bad if not get back, parts are to expencive to throw at a problem
