Mercury command thrust trim anode fin

Likely not a common thing but thought I’d see if anyone had been there before.
had anyone had any decent results to reduce torque steer on the larger gear case outboards (without power steering or anti feedback steering) by fitting a trim anode fin ? I’ve just managed to order the special version of the standard one, that has a fin further set to the rear, to avoid the prop hitting it. Thought it was worth a try before giving in and getting proper steering system.
hard to come by where I am but managed to get one. Otherwise it was a case of getting a normal fit trim anode fin and cutting it to allow clearance for the prop.

Merc or Quicksilver sells them to clear large, deep pitch props. Better than trimming a regular anode because you have a full sized fin, just further back for clearance. Merc part number is 82277Q 1 from what I found.

If you got a Merc anode, be careful of bumping it. It could be fragile with the long neck. The two styles for comparing. but you know. In case other are curious.

Excellent news to hear this. The one pictured on the right is exactly the one I just had delivered
822777q 1. Just looking to see if anyone had success with it on this engine. Quite an unusual set up only being a 115, but using the bigger gearcase and props the V6 and upwards normally do. They will usually have a good steering system. I don’t. Hope it works well.
