Mercury control box rewire????

I have a 1977 115 or 1150 with power t/t (7 pin plug on side of motor) i need to rewire this to a newer mid 80's control box a quicksilver i believe a 9 or 10 pin its from a 1987 black max xr2. Can i do this and if so could someone provide wiring diagram or what wires i need to hook to what wires. im not sure if the colors are different or not havent checked yet. any help is appreciated thanks so much. i want to cut and splice both of the harness to make the one work with the other. thanks again

yes the colors are different, you will need a manual, seloc worked for me. It is not that bad but I do not have a scanner to scan the pages.
