mercury control wiring

I have a 1979 50 merc and cotoller is junk,I am trying to wire in a I'm guessing 1960's controller,it's white with the name IEKHAEFER MERCURY wrote on it.I have A white,blue,red,yellow,green,black wires.and not a clue which one goes to the starter selnoid,ground,etc.any help would be greatly thanked.

Those color wires are not standard. You need to trace them out. It is likely that red is +12VDC, from the battery and black is ground to the battery.

White is usually accessory volatage +12VDC from the ign switch. Yellow is usually used to energize the starter solenoid.

If you have the four coil ignition on your motor, you need to connect the ign killer wire to your salmon color wire in the motor. See if any wire gets grounded when the ign switch is turned off. You also need a choke wire. See if any wire gets voltage when you push the choke button.
