Re: Mercury EFI 175 Crankshaft

What year as the upper and center main bearings are different between block styles. If its not a Opti you can use a standard oiler crank from a 2.0/2.4/2.5 liter engine, just match the bearings. Try Ebay for a good used one or pm me on a reman with warranty...

You need to be very careful on a used crank. Like FB says two different size top bearing shoulders but what most don't notice is tha shouldered and non-shouldered center mains. Both styles are used in pre '91 blocks (2.0/2.4) with some being able to be used in post '91 blocks. Tha early 2.0 can be used in all blocks past and present with tha PLASTIC cased center mains. Its just tha O.D. of tha mains that will be different depending on tha year of tha block your gonna put it in. Its something you need to be really careful about if you don't know exactly what your seenin' cause all of 'em will "bolt up" and seem fine. Till ya fire it up! His idea of a reman is a good one..................

Thank you both. Mine is a 2001 Model. I believe that is the 2.5. Any suggestions?
