Mercury Enertia Prop - Anyone tested it yet?

I've read about Mercury's new Enertia prop using, according to Mercury's marketing department, some new and fantastic alloy that is 30% stronger than stainless.<br /><br />Apparently this allowed them to make the blades on their new enertia prop a lot thinner.<br /><br />Has anyone actually tried this prop?

If it works as Merc says it will, I'll be keeping it ....but I assure you, you will get a full report.

(National Marine Propeller Association) and we have sent several of our earlier prototype X7 Enertia propellers to various members to perform welding tests and various types of repairs and the response we received was that they are not that much different to work with than conventional stainless propellers.... so I would guess that any type of repairs that you might need would be relative to what you might pay currently for a conventional stainless propeller repair.<br /><br />-These propellers have been tested and still are being tested on a variety of applications and conditions.... which is part of the reason the propellers will not be available until the 2nd quarter.<br /><br />-The HP claims are based upon the fact that we gained 2 MPH top end speed during our testing......if you compare that increase in speed to HP is results in 17 HP gain.... <br /><br />-The testing results that you see in a lot of the Enertia promotional material are using a Mirage Propeller as a baseline propeller... <br /><br />- We have found that the Enertia propellers tend to turn another 2-300 RPMs pitch for pitch which should prove to be beneficial on the newer higher horsepower fourstrokes.... <br /><br />- Additionally we are offering the propellers in 1" pitch increments to help dial in the appropriate WOT range of the a lot of the higher horsepower fourstroke outboards.<br /><br />Thanks, KGF.<br />

Based on the above, you of course have to compare it directly with a Mirage - just to verify their claims. Personally, I am particularily curious about what I could realistically expect for a 22P Enertia compared to a 23P Vengeance (on my Alpha sterndrive & 120 Hp Mercury diesel).

Haven't got it yet...<br />Are you wanting 4-500 more RPM than your Vengeance??? I think you'll want the 24 when it's available...

That's my problem, exactly. I don't think I want those extra RPMs.<br /><br />Ordering a prop from the US makes it non-returnable so I better hit the pitch right. I need to get an exact fix first on the Vengeance. Then, if you could verify the relative up-or-down in RPM, I can be reasonably certain to hit it right on.

Still waiting on my props, stevens....<br />I can tell you this much...Merc has told me fist-hand, person to person, if you use the same pitch in the E7, expect 150-200RPM gain. Even though some reports have said 300, and this guy is showing about 500, I highly suspect the variables are not consistant.
