Mercury/Force 75hp 1997 - Speed of Power Lift

The boat is kept on the beach at Eastbourne Fishing Club Eastbourne, UK. To beach the boat we have to approach at speed and lift the engine at the last minute. OK for manual lift engines but my power tilt engine just doesn't lift fast enough. So my problem is, how can I modify my lift to double or treble the speed of lift. I am sure the lift components are Mercury as the engine is a later Mercury/Force. Changing to a manual lift is not an option as I am a right arm amputee. I would be grateful for any information on how to solve my problem. It could be something simple like enlarging a hole through which the hydraulic fluid passes - I don't know.

I don't generally recommend powering a boat onto a beach, Geoff. Really risky for the keel.

I recommend drifting her to the beach at idle and then dragging her up.

Depending on the slope of the bottom, tilt your engine up as far as it can go without taking the water intakes out of the water and idle her to contact with the beach. Shut down and drag her the rest of the way.

I know of no way to speed up a power tilt without increasing the size and power of the tilt motor and pump.

A little creative wiring. First isolate the tilt/ trim relay from the engine 12 volt system. Then power the pump with 2 -12 volt batteries in series, giving you 24 volts. Replace the elect. motor pieriodically. I think JB had a better solution. FRED
