Mercury four stroke 8hp starting problem

Hey, I recently purchased a brand new Mercury four stroke 8hp outboard. After using it four or five times (with no problems) I couldn't get it to start (despite substantial numbers of attempts). Someone at the marina told me that there are flooding problems associated with this type of engine. Is that so? If so, how can I avoid them in the future?

That motor is made by Tohatsu, maybe post over on that forum or do a search there for a problem. There are a couple members there that are very knowledgeable about those little motors.
