mercury - how old??

Hey all,<br />I'm probably going to buy an used 20 hp Mercury. I don't know where the serial number sits on such engine. I don't know either where I can get information about its age...please help me as fast as possible - before the engine is sold.<br /><br />Thanx a lot.<br /><br />Allan Eriksen<br />Denmark.

Metal hood it is between the stern clamps on a dirty metal plate.<br />Fiber hood it is on the the side of the motor on the swivel bracket.<br /><br />corm

I just became the new owner of a mercury kiekhaefer super 10 boat motor does anyone know where i can get info on this?
