I need an impeller for my '79 6hp Chrysler and was told a Mercury part # 47-F429065-2 would work. My main question is can I get other parts as well for an older Chrysler?
Thanks

Re: Mercury impeller in Chrysler?

That probably is not a "Mercury" impeller. Mercury bought out the Force brand which was previously the Chrysler brand. Mercury has since then quit making the Force motors.

You need to know about the Chrysler Crew geocities.com/thechryslercrew/ They list some parts sources on their web page.

A few Chrysler parts are listed right here at iboats. I believe the impeller is probably one of them. Take a peek.

The Chrysler impellers here start at the 35hp range. I need one for a 6hp.

Most after market marine parts stores only sell for larger motors. That part number you mentioned has to be ordered from Mercury and they are about the only ones that still carry parts for smaller chrysler motors. $14.30 is not a bad price for an impeller.

I registered for the geocities.com/Chrysler site but am still waiting to see if the thing will be approved before I can do anything.
