Hello I have a few problems that have started recently on my outboard 135hp mercury mariner 1997

The boat has been a tank for the last 5 years but this year I noticed it shut down randomly. Then I tried cranking it right after and starter did not crank. I started trolling back in. As I was trolling back I tried cranking it again and it started right up. No proble the entire day I drove it all around.
Well few days later I notice the alarm beeping constantly on and off which indicate temperature or oil.
today I tried to diagnose the issue and found the oil gear strippe. The plastic gear inside the motor
I bypassed the gear and am fine with predicting oil but now my issue is the alarm still goes off because the oil pump has a pickup

my ignition is kind of finicky so this issue might have been happening for quite some time. Maybe a few trips I've had this year. I have to wiggle the key to get the alarms to work

But I always noticed the motor smoking blue and oil going lower from the tank so I didnt think anything of it and the thermostats always turn on at 140-150 degrees

I did a compression and got 120 across all 6 cylinders.

Now I'm wondering if there is a way to bypass the the oil pickup because it senses the gear turning or should I just remove the entire alarm box

Just unplug the purple and it disables the oil sensor features..you wont need to get a buzzer

I need a buzzer for overheating. Though. From the factory its built into that mercury alarm module but if I disable the entire thing then no alarms work. So I'd like to get a buzzer for the water temp just incase

Cable tie the float in the up position and remove drive from the pump. 50-1 pre mix 👌

tha same buzzer is used with oiler and over heat.. its common between tha two alarms but they are two different circuits.... its NOT in tha module.. you need to remove everything that has ta do with tha oil injection.. install tha "oil pump block off kit".. tha over heat buzzer will still function as it should...

justa note: if oiler alarms/module are disconnected you WILL NOT get any beeps when you turn tha key on....

Ok sorry I've been told by guys the module also has a wire for checking the temp. But that must be wrong. I didnt no it was just a oil alarm module

lotta that goin' 'round with here say and on some of these sites....

tha oiler stuff and tha over heat stuff are completely separate circuits... neither has anything ta do with tha other.. but they do share tha same one and only buzzer.. good luck.
