Mercury OB 175 year of mfg?

Hello all,

First post here. I have searched the web and forums until my eyes have crossed for the year of mfg for my V6 175 hp Merc. No data tag on the bracket but found a # on the casting plug: 0D189046.

Hope someone can help here. Also, where to find the info on the web?

[you can try this website ( www.oldmercs.com ) they have serial#
lists tied to the year of mfg with pics, provided its made from 1940 to 1979

Thanks DAMIFINO, but I know it is later than that. Somewhere around 1990-1993. I had actually found that site earlier.

It is a carbed 2.5l V6.
