Mercury Optimax - What is this?

I bought a used 2002 150 Optimax and I'm not sure where this tube is supposed to go. It hooks up to the lower sender on the back of the motor.

No pic on your link. Just a guess could be the speedometer tube.

I did finally find this in the FSM. It was indeed the speedometer sender. Thanks.

Another Question - Trying to get this hooked up and debuged and am getting a continuous alarm at the remote. It fires for a second and dies almost immediately. Anyone have a good guesses as to the alarm?

The motor didnt come with a remote oil tank and I'm using one without a oil level sender. Is this ok?
