i have recently purchased a 50 h.p. mercury outboard and am new to baoting.i believe the serial is #7052996.It is black with blue and silver trim and letter. it hasyjunderbolt ignition on the case. if you could tell me the year i would appreciate it.
also if you know how adjust the throttle cable that would also help. i have to push half throttle just to engage the prop and full throttle to get a slight increase in r.p.m.
i bought a flush muff but it doesn't pull any water itno the system. we've put water in from the top but doen't seem to do anything. there are slits above the propeller. could this be further cooling intake. we've taped shut the slits but still no flow. could it be pump trouble and is it hard to repair?
i know its alot to ask but any info will help get it in the water safely
