My water pump base shoots water out of a little hole in it. Since it’s there by design I guess it’s normal? Not sure. In the picture I circled a spot with a significant spray of water. Looks like a lot of water too lose.
im asking this because I have an overheating issue.

What trouble shooting have you done on the motor ?----Compression test ?----Thermostats ?----Poppit valve checked ?-----Did pump impeller fail , if so did you find all the pieces ?

I did just about everything you could think of. You name it Ive done it. Cylinder head gaskets, exhaust manifold, poppit, impeller, clean carbon buildup, clean salt build up, check timing, rebuild carburetors, replaced exhaust plate gaskets top & bottom, took the cylinder head to be surfaced at a machine shop. Compression good. Timing good. Using good oil. Correct oil/fuel mixture.

Still overheats. Absolute mystery. Aside from alarm & temp gauge the water coming out of the telltail is pretty hot at WOT in water. Water pressure gauge read 10 PSI at WOT. It sporadically dips below 10 but maintains roughly 10-12 PSI.
