Mercury outboard engine ? ?

Hello froam Croatia

I buy a outboard engine, the seller say it is a Mercury 150 BlackMax 1994. Some pictures of the engine

We start the engine and it was working fine, we made a compression test, on all 6 cylinder it was about 10- 10.5 bar.

The only problem was that the engine was GRAY and the mercury outboard is black, but we buuy the engine becouse it looks a fine outboard.

After 10 days we come in conntact with the first owner of the engine and he say its not a mercury its a mariner.
He put the engine block of the mariner, but the other things are foram a mercury.

We wanted to spray the engine in black and check all parts.

We sandblast the engine so we can spray the engine in black.

We check all the carburator and find thet the nozzles are different. the top two are 48, midle 80 and 82 and the bottom are 80 and 78. Thats not good ??? i think ??

Can anybody say me what is that for a engine, and maybe the year
and what i have to do with the carburator nozzles

That not a 1994 powerhead as it has the old style heads on it, block not set up for for oil injection, it not set up for the 40 amp charging system, that a 1980-82 powerhead on a later model midsection... sorry.

Post a picture of the carbs to see which series they are and it about 140 hp.

Is it okey that the jets are different ? Its the jet main full jet

In the top carb they are 048. and 048, in the middle they are 080. and 082. and the bottom are 080. and 080.




Do i have to change something ? Why are they different ?

Sounds like you have 1 old series carb and 2 newer series,what are the WH numbers on carb???

The WH numbers are

WH - 12 - 1
WH - 12 - 2
WH - 12 - 3

Check all 3 to be sure as the WH-12 are not set up for use of a enrichner as they use butterfly choke. Someone may have drilled and installed the fittings to the bodies to try and update them. If they all are the WH12 series it uses the .048 jet in all the mains..

Today i will chech the carbs and make some pictures more.

What i have to do with the big jets ? i have to change it to .048 ? they are .082 and .080, do i get more power with them ?
And its not good if they are different ? up .048 and the other .082 and 0.80

I was looking for new jets, where can i order it ?
