Mercury outboard need help determining the year

I have a Mercury 25hp outboard tiller Serial # 6079343 that I need help determining the year. Can someone point me in the right direction to get the year and approxiamte value?

that serial puts it at 82 or 83.

as for value.....

its only worth what the next guy is willing to pay for it! not a real huge market for older used outboards......

if in great condition, maybe 400 bucks round here
