Hi guys,
i bought a 2000 Tracker Targa 18 that has been sitting for almost 14 yrs. I did a total restoration and now it's in the final stage of getting her lake worthy. The motor that i'm working on is a 2000 Mercury 115HP two stroke 4 cylinders. Things that I had done:
- Cleaned the fuel tank; 2 gallons of denature alcohol, drove down a country road and pumped out. Did this twice and verified that the tank is clean.
- new fuel/water separator, fuel line, hand pump
- rebuilt the fuel pump
- cleaned the carbs twice, clean fuel line to the carbs, new inline fuel filter in the motor
- rebuilt the accelerator pump
- Compression checked, all cylinders with great compression
The motor would start on first click, run for about 5 seconds then die, restart after a couple second and same thing would happen, it like the motor is running out of fuel or something. What did i miss? Thank you in advance!
