Hi all,
I've torn down my mercruiser 3.0 and am doing rings, bearings, gaskets
The engine took in some water (during a rainstorm.. somehow?..). There was an obvious knock after starting it up (without knowing about the water). We found some damage to one bearing but everything else looked pretty good. It's going to be sent to the machine shop prior to any further work.
My question is are these aftermarktet kits any good? The cost is substantially different... about $300 difference between rebuild kit vs piecing it individually through merc.
Love to hear your thoughts!
