Have question related to Qwicksilver outboard oil. Most oil compagnies have an oil for air cooled engines and another for outboard motors.

Ex: Castrol = Super outboard and Super 2 cycle
Amsoil = Saber professional and Saber outboard
Cantire = 2 cycle outboard and 2 cycle air cooled

Considering using Mercury oil in my Force OB I checked a bottle of Mercury Qwicksilver only to read on the label that is it a multi-purpose 2 cycle oil good for Outboards, lawnmower, moto-marine ... and beleve it or not ... snow-toys.

What is the deduction ..??? Does it have low temp addtives for OB's ?? or high temps additives for snow-machines ?? Or can it have both and be good at it ?

Can someone explain ? tx

Re: Mercury Qwicksilver outboard oil question.

The TCW-III rating means it is good for Two Cycle Water (TCW) Cooled motors. That is what you want to see for your outboard.

I ve also been told by several OB mecanics that air-cooled type oil will clog plugs and piston on water cooled OB motors .

Are we saying that Mercury/Qwicksilver 2 cycle is oil above that theory ?
