Hello, I apologize if this is a repeat question. I've searched the forums and havent found my answer. I would like to thank anyone in advance who answers to this as well and let you know your input is greatly appreciated.
I purchased a 1976 16 foot fiberglass glastron a few years ago. It was in terrible shape and I replaced the entire floor and frame. After completly rebuilding it, I went out for the first outing to find the motor has serious problems. (motor has no power)
long story short a friend claimed to be able to fix it. he "fixed" it so well it wont even start now. I am looking for a repair manual because the wiring harness is wrongly wired now and the carbs need rebuilding along with other maintenance. (tune up new plugs wires etc)
Which brings me to my question. My serial number showed 2627328 on the back plate. I have a 50 horse merc 500 4 cyl outboard. The mercury website doesnt reconize my serial #. I was hoping to find out the year of my motor for repair manual referance. can anyone help me figure the year out and refer me to a good repair manual preferably with a good wiring diagram? Thanks!!!
