Just writing to see if anyone had a good answer as to why these were the only sidebowl carburetors offered during the inline 6 era with the larger .076 jets when most others were .074. Was it because by this time Mercury knew these motors needed to run richer? And with changes in fuel specification in the mid/late 80s did they realize they needed a bigger Jet to keep the motors from burning up pistons at partial throttle?
Thanks in advance.
