Mercury Trim Tilt Sticks

Hi all hope all are well in these troubled times.
Down to it, I have a 2015 Mercury 60hp 4 stroke and if I tilt the motor all the way up it sticks and I have to use the release valve to get it down. Only happens in the up position. Does anyone else have this problem and is there a fix ( before anybody hits me with the dumb butt) aside from just not running it all the way up. I know it does it and compensate but my brother does not always think about it and invariably runs it up to far. Not a huge deal just a pain in the butt, so if anyone has a solution I would appreciate your input.
Thanks in advance

A lot of PTT systems have a stop (trim limit) switch when it is fully tilted. If yours has that feature, you could adjust is down a bit and see if that helps.

I had that issue on an older Merc. The solution was when she would not trim down, hit the trip up button for 1/2 sec and then immediately hit the down button, before it stopped moving.

Thanks for the reply Chris. The first time it stuck in the up position I took it to my local dealer he got it down but did not indicate that this motor has a trim limit switch, that would be an easy fix if it had 1. I will do some research on that.
On your 2nd suggestion it only sticks when it is fully up so could not get it to move either way. Will try if it happens again.
Headed out for a few days fishing with brother hope I don’t have to try it.

Put a piece of tape on the trim button, when your brother drives, to remind him not to over trim.
