I have a 1991 mercury xR4 150.. had a little incident while cleaning my carbs the other day.. I set my top carb on my work counter and went to reach for a screwdriver, and being in the hurry I was, the carb fell off the counter and.... Now I'm looking for another carb... So if anyone has one laying around they would be willing to sell. That would be awesome. I have tried local marine places here local and can't seem to find one.. the number off the carb is 3308-9682-c.. . And I'm needing the top carb.. thanks!

They don't all have numbers on, I have a v6 135 1986 and all the carbs have on them is WH and the casting number, do you know what size jets it has in it and if they are factory?

Not recommended! Open the idle jet and main jet on the broken carb, they should all have a number stamped on the top of the jet.

If they are WH carbs they should have a number next to the top metal plate which has 5 screws holding the plate down, it might be something like 35-306876. The 35- is the carb number, it would be a WH 35.

Thank you for that info.. the number is wmh-1A

they also used wmh 7's.. wmh 1 and wmh 7... those are your choice.. all other wmh's will be jetted for a 2.0 or 2.5 motor... '91 is a very strange year for merc stuff because of several design changes.. your xr4 is tha only 2.4 ta use wmh's, if original they will have accelerator pumps on 'em.. pumps went away after two years on tha wmh.s.. your dilemma is ya need ta replace all three if a match isn't found and they have gotta be wmh's to be able to use existing linkages, throttle cam and rod.. you can go to a wh series but all linkages, throttle cam and rod would have ta change with 'em.....

one other option would be tha wmh 2 or 11.. you would need to swap tha jetting from your wmh 1 to tha 2 or 11... tha rest of carb body and parts are tha same......

Yes my carbs have the accelerator pumps on the side. I have found mutiple carbs just like mine that have the accelerator pumps on them, but they don't have the tiny jets that spray fuel torwards the butterflys.. seems like those carbs are a needle in a haystack... Lol.. I'm running out of options.. other then switching all 3 carbs to a different style. Sucks.. cause I just put all new rebuild kits in them, and was working on the top carb when my little accident happened. :(.

here is what ya lookin' by switchin'..........

think earlier xr4 used WH 41's.. thing is, goin' ta WH's ya gotta have throttle rod, cam and carb linkage ta go with 'em.... only thing 'bout changin' comes back to tha block, front half, reed plate changes that were being made in tha duration of tha XR4.. '87, '88 and some '89's were vertical reed motors.. some where in '89/'90 xr4 changed to horizontal front half like yours but with WH's.. so from '87 to '91 (yrs of XR4) there are 3 linkage changes.. one type for vertical reed with WH's.. one type for horizontal with WH's (linkage parts for a 2.4 200 will work here) and finally yours, horizontal with WMH's.... so if ya have no idea what i'm tryin ta explain, best ta continue your hunt for tha WMH............ jmo

How screwed up are they? You can now buy low heat Ally welding rods that only need a plumbers pipe torch to repair broken ally items.
