Re: MFG Westfield top frame replacement
Hi Nathan,
I have a 64 Custom with the TaylorMade cloth top [and side curtains and rear cover]. My top is near the end of its life, but still hanging in there. I have not contacted TaylorMade to see if or how much it would be to make duplicates. I have the original model #'s stamped on each piece. I'd be very interested in how you make out.
Now, to your specific question, I do have the original frame, which I assume is also TaylorMade, but not positive. Good news is that it consists of simple bends. Possible bad news: do you still have the adjustable rails mounted to the top of the gunwales, or any of that hardware? If so, my initial thinking is that you should be able to get the rest of it made up for you - with possible issues obtaining some other connecting h/w. Better yet, as Ed says, find a parts boat or investigate the frame and see if it is common to many types of boats and start looking more broadly. As I'm a Cadet here too [!] others may have much better ideas for you.
If you give me some time I can get you close up pics to assist you if others don't already have them handy to share.
Good luck!
Woody
