Re: MFG

just bought a 1976 mfg gypsy 17 . rated for 135 hp, nice solid boat, the worst part is the interior is pretty faded and cracked plus some rips. i put my 1982 90 hp rude on it today and will hopefully get it out in a day or 2 to check it out. after buffing and cleaning will post [pic.

Re: MFG

I have a 14 footer, similar to Mark42's Niagra. I'm not sure what model mine is. Like I said, similar to Mark42's (except for the hole in hte hull, the river water stain, solarized paint, krazed windshield, bad upholstery, non-working engine, ...). Someday.....

Re: MFG

Here is an updated photo from 10/16/06. This is from a trip to Jessup Neck on Long Island NY. Even though it is late in the boating season, we had nice weather in the 60's and I took my Dad and my daughter Amber out for a ride in the early morning. The island in the distance is North Haven. The beach directly benind is (a very small part of) the Jessup Neck Bird Sanctuary. Because you cannot beach the boat there, we beached on the other side of the inlet. Jessup Neck is a wonderful place to visit and walk around. Be warned that beaching is not allowed. Just anchor in waist deep water and you can spend an entire day exploring the neck.

I got this boat a few years ago from a friend of mine. I don't have any respectable pictures and I'm trying to get the damn motor running properly so I can start to work on the interior. It's a pure fishing boat, self draining, horizontal rod storage, a nice deep V hull and a decent cuddy cabin for overnight trips.

Unfortunately its a crap brown color with faded white due to no wax, wash or polish in who knows how long.

Here's mine. A restoration in progress. 1960 Northeastern Hardtop Deluxe. She's torn apart right now, but by spring she'll be afloat.
