This is sort of a stupid question, but have to ask...

I'm not much of an electronic wizz and I don't know enough about the Motor Guide trolling motors.

So the question, Will a 24V, Maxxum 65 motor run off of only one battery (12volts)?

Just curious....

No, it won't K. Minn Kota does make a 55lbs. Maxxum though that is 12V. It's a great motor.

No -- you need two 12V batteries wired in series to provide 24 volts. Both the MotorGuide and MinnKota web sites show how to do this.

Thanks..

I have the batteries and will wire it correctly. I was just wondering if the design of the trolling motor will allow it to run with only 12volts supplied...
The manual that came with the motor does not talk about this issue at all...

Some older 24 volt motors had a 12/24V volt switch that allowed you to do that. Most new 24V & 36V motors don't.
