I have a rodent problem at my house at school
So I live in Philly and my house is connected to the next house etc...
We had a pretty bad rodent problem... about a dozen traps set... I plugged all holes with steel wool and duct tape... and the little bastards still find their way all over and keep me up at night. ANy suggestions on how to get rid of them before I get my gun?
My land lord refuses to do anything except provide traps because "they'll just come back" and they can't do stuff to the other houses...

Any ideas?

Decon poison but I really do not use it.

Peanut butter in the traps.......

Great stuff expanding foam will truly plug the holes and gaps.

Spread bird food around your neighbors house........ give them a new restaurant to eat at

hahaha the bird food is a good idea. We can;t have a cat because of our lease...

Some traps have PB, some have cheese... some have rice and stuff we caught them eating...

I can't tell where they are coming from, but they aren't getting through my tape..

Capitalize and live trap them, and sell them as pet snake food!:facepalm:. Or trap a bunch and let them go at the landlords house "they just keep coming back". Poisons make them die in holes or places you cannot find or remove them, and they'll stink

Bait the traps with bacon. I use a pellet gun to get the smart ones, and a screwdriver handle to get the dumb ones.

Your average mouse can squeeze through a 1/4" hole, and climb vertical copper pipe. I've seen it first hand. Fill every hole- big or small. When i was in the business of killing them, I would use steel wool AND expanding foam to seal all entry points. Traps are the way to go. If you use baits, use them outside in the backyard. You can buy a Baitstation for about 10 bucks to prevent other animals from getting to the bait.

Put out some "one-bite' or other baits. Let them die somewhere else.

Cats!!! I have two Maine Coon cats and nothing besides us lives more than a few minutes after these two guys find them inside. Even the neighbor's Akita dogs won't mess these these two cats.

..... and you save money on catfood! Ive always eliminated the problem w peanut butter baited, old fashioned mouse traps. I set a few near the sighting and open a beer, sometimes it takes a 1/2 hour, but not often. Rodents have good noses and LOVE peanut butter.

Lots of traps. I get mice in my shed. The first year or two they were chewing up my pool cover and other things that they could make a nest out of. Now I leave 4 snap traps in the shed baited with peanut butter. First night I got 3 and one tripped the last trap but got away. Second night I got two. Now months later I get one a week. I basically have none living in the shed, and when one comes in it dies.

Also there is no more mouse chewing up my equipment problem.

I guess what I am saying is it sounds like there is going to be an endless supply of mice. I would just try and get to the point where none are living with you and the traps are to kill the ones that decide to explore.

Basically it looks like trap or move. I've had success with glue traps for the occasional mouse that shows up in my garage. I have a funny mouse related story as well. At a dinner with some over educated folks (an M.D. and M.D./PHD couple) they were discussing how they approached the mouse problem they were having. Their solution was to catch the mice in live traps, paint them with flourescent orange paint, release them outside and watch to see where they reentered the house. As you might imagine, this technique was a failure.

I did something similar in Alaska with loose dogs. People living in Alaska some how believe it is now OK to let your dog loose. Anyway I began catching them, painting a red and black target on each side of them and let them go.
It really began to work. The owners figured this out right away and the dogs hated me after that too. So since the dogs and owners never wanted to be around my place again, I was dog and pest free.

Decon. Used to have mice in the garage and shop, traps would catch some but always had more mice around. The decon thins them out really fast.

My house is 115 years old and situated beside a farm field. The first couple years we had more than our share of rodents coming in for the winter. I tried everything from traps to poison....it kills them, but you know they breed worse than rabbits so you have an endless supply of the little buggers.

I bought those plug-in rodent repellents. They worked amazing (and for bats too). My dogs are oblivious to it, and I haven't seen a rodent in 4 years (bonus). Plus, I dont have to do carcass removal or wonder where the poisoned corpses end up in my house

This is what i use in my garage and it works great, I put it all around the inside perimeter of my garage last week and i already found two dead. You can buy it at Home Depot also..

Which one did you use? I was skeptical when I saw that at CVS...
