I am trying to tune my 1984 19' Bayliner 1900 with the Chrysler/Force 125 O/B but I have no idea what the max speed of the boat should be.

I know that max revs should be around 5000 but at the moment I am getting 42mph (GPS) at 4200 rpm which seems too low.

So are there any other owners of the same boat combination who can tell me what their max speed is with 125hp, how many revs at that speed, and if possible what prop you are using?

Thanks to anyone who can help.

I would guess the boat came with a 17" pitch propeller from the factory. What are you running? You also have to be sure the motor is running to its full potential. That means checking compression, fuel flow, spark, and spark advance.

Yes it's a 17"

I have diagnosed that the engine isn't running right just yet so need to rebuild the carbs and check the timing - then I will test it again.
