Mid to late 80's 9.9 evenrude

Hope someone can help me, I have an 1985-88 outboard I just acquired. There is no model #, the freeze plug shows a R8194896 number on it. It's a 2 cyl. 2 cycle 9.9 hp outboard. Anyone have any ideas.

i am not sure where you are but if you call brp with that serial number they might help you. im sure someone here could supply the phone number. i could not find it.

If you can post a few photos, someone should be able to give you a closer date of mfg.

Does it have the gear cog throttle shaft or cable linkage from the twist grip? Where is the thermostat housing, on top of the head? These came into being during you estimated date, which could help ID it.
