Re: Midwest people check in

Our area was spared, but all surrounding areas are dealing with the flooding. Boss had me haul out all the equipment/tools/materials out of the shop to higher ground. About 2 hours later, the flood warning for our immediate area was cancelled. Now its going to take several days to get things back to normal,,,,,,whatever normal is :D. I hope we get moved out of that building soon. This is getting to be a pain moving stuff out for the flood warnings. However it sure beats having to clean up the mess for when it does happen to flood.

The 18" of snow has melted followed by 4 inches of rain in 48 hours, 2" of snow last night, and now the forcast tomorrow is 3 to 6" of snow. Sure is aggravating,,,,,wanting to get work done on the boat for the big launch :D

I was starting to think I was going to need my boat to get to work here in SW Missouri. There are two ways into where I live. One of them is still under water, the other one was close. We only got around 4-5" of rain. People south and east of here made out a lot worse. Tomorrow I've got to get my boats uncovered and let them air out before the next round of rain hits Sunday...

Sounds like our town back in August. Gee wiz, if we were flooded like you are, I could just fire my boat up and cruise over to visit you by way of US 30 :D

Got a call from the marina,,,,,,they say it doesn't look good for launching in early April. Just hopefully that mother nature gets her watering done now instead of having a wet and cold summer season.

Ken, I'll PM or email you when I get closer to the launch schedule. Hope you found the parts for your boat. Would like to see it this year at the lake..........SS

Re: Midwest people check in

They just declared most of Missouri a disaster area. I checked on the marina I use at Table Rock Lake. They said they have been adjusting the mooring cables every 4 hours and are ready to splice more cable on. They also said the walkways are completely under water as is the launch ramps. The other marina I use has had 2 cables snap. Both of them officially open in 2 weeks for boating season and are scrambling to be ready...

Re: Midwest people check in

and with all the rain and flooding,

Maybe re-read the rules and you'll find out why we DON"T talk government on this site. The mods will do their job and zap it without hesitation.
