Hi all,

I have a Volvo penta AQ125B/270 4 cyl. And yesterday I found out that my upper bellow is bad and that I have milky outdrive oil. My question; is there a way that I can get away, by just flushing the inside and replacing the oil? And how?

Any replies will be great appreciated!

Ayuh,... You can Drain it,+ refill it,...
But,...
That'll Fix absolutely Nothing....

Like Bondo said - it'll fix absolutely nothing. However, draining the oil will give you an opportunity to get rid of the water that would have otherwise separated from the oil and left the lower gears and bearings sitting in water. That will cause further damage and you MAY have a start at saving your outdrive by getting rid of the water while you are troubleshooting the reason the water got there in the first place. The bellows failure didn't get water into the outdrive!

One of the things that happens when you start a thread is that related topics show up below your thread. It's a tremendously helpful feature of this forum. I didn't discover that feature until I asked many questions that have been answered over and over again .

Thank you for the responses!

"The bellows failure didn't get water into the outdrive"
I bought this boat without a outdrive shift linkage cover (832570). I thought it wasn't a big deal since previous owner was using it this way. I know there's suppose to be a cover inn place, but could this be the reason?

I already replaced both bellows, o-rings, outdrive oil, and greased the u-joints

Thanks again!
