That link you put up is the pump for the trim. Is that where the milky oil is, or is it really the power steering pump that has milky oil?

Is that system isolated from others? As in it doesnt imply leaking into any other places? Will replacing cylinders and external connections to them correct it?

Ayuh,... The trim system is independent, oil wise, from any other systems,....

If there's a leak in those parts, Ya, sure, but find the leak 1st,...
Those are mighty expensive parts when bought new,...

No chance the cap on the tank was where the water got in, is there,..??

Hey if there is water in the trim cylinders oil in the cylinders themselves do i need to get it out of there before winter or risk the cylinders cracking? Or if they are leaking im going to have to replace them anyway and it doesnt matter if they crack?

Depends on the condition of the cylinders, if they are corroded badly, who cares. But they can be rebuilt if they are just leaking due to seals being bad. Now the rest of the system, Can be damaged from the water in the oil. I'd defiantly flush it out.

It would depend on how much water is in them......if it's just a little they'd likely not be damaged by freezing temps.

But if it's just a little and they're otherwise in OK you might be able to re-seal them. I think you can also buy new ones from SEI for about $120 each.

They also might not be leaking either. Did the boat sit out in a big rainstorm where the trim pump was exposed to rain (and/or the fill cap was either loose or missing)?

Its possible water got in from rain and or from speedometer line spurting water all over that area for unknown period of time. Or lines leaking or cylinders leaking.

Well then flush it out and recheck midway through next season if water in fluid again then you have a real issue.
