mini dv or dvd camcorder????

Loved my hi8 sony camcorder and I really still do but I guess it is time for me to catch up with technology.Any body have some pros and cons of each.Charlie

DVD, no question about it. Tapes are so 1995...they have no place in 2007.

Then again I won't even bother with DVDs. Flash memory > everything else.

my wife got me a mini dv for christmas but i would prefer a dvd

The biggest advantage to the DVD format is that the discs are much much cheaper than the mini DVDs.

After that it is mostly about comfort in use.....obviously the DVD camcorder is going to be bigger and maybe more cumbersome...........gotta go and pick them up and see how they feel.

The dvd seems to be the better choice of the two as far as ease of use and replay and cost..Am I missing something???
