When replacing the Yamaha mini screw on fuel filter, should you purge any air that is between the primer bulb and filter. I've changed my filter and noticed that now the primer bulb doesn't get firm when pumping fuel into the motor. I can hear it trying to pull the fuel from the tank and it must be because the motor starts. I haven't found any leaks either.

Thanks for the help!

I realized what I had to do. Disconnect the primer bulb from the motor and depress the connector while holding the primer bulb straight up and down. give it a few good pumps and the air will bleed right out. Just have a few rags available so that you don't make a mess. Gas is expensive!
