Minn Kota Edge 45 speed & power issues

I have an older Minn Kota Edge 45 that has worked perfectly until today. I lost power on speeds 3 & 4 but the motor ran find on 1, 2 & 5. A few hours later the motor stopped running all together. When I pulled it out of the water I took the head cap off and tested the wires directly to the motor and all speeds worked fine. The issues appears to be in the foot pedal however I am not sure what would cause it to work on 3 speeds and then cut out completely (I did also replace the 7.5 fuse). Anyone else have this issue and know how to fix?
