A friend gave me this Endura with a bad switch. He capsized 7 years ago and had to grab it off the bottom of the lake. When he gave it to me, the cover and throttle stick was off and he was just running it full throttle by crossing the wires. I had him find the missing parts and then I ordered a "new" switch on ebay. Having assembled the motor (5 fwd - 3 rev), only fwd speeds 2, 4, & 5 work and only 3 rev. I can live with this, but it would be nice to have all of the speed options. My question is, does the problem have to be in the switch? I hate to return this brand new switch to a seller if its something else. Thanks!

The switch is an electrical component and hardly anyone on the planet will take back an electrical item if it has been used. Are you sure you have it wired correctly. Since you have 2, 4, and 5 forward and 3 in reverse, that says it is possibly a wiring issue. 3 in reverse is nothing more than the a polarity reversal from 3 in forward so you know it's not a control issue. Look more carefully at the wiring.
