Minn Kota I-Pilot

Anyone have the new I-Pilot on a MinnKota motor? Experiences?

Looking to replace my old 812 PowerDrive with Autopilot since the control board and foot pedal is gone. Seems like a good deal if it works well, I can think of a hundred times I could have used this feature and concentrated on fishing rather than piloting the dang TM to stay on a ledge.

Are they released in the US yet?

Maybe I should clarify since the press release for the product was in July 2009.

There isn't any info on the Minn Kota website yet as only the co-pilot and autopilot accessory is listed. Found some reviews online but haven't seen it for sale yet.

I'm just about to order one from Cabela's, but I'd sure like to talk with someone that has it first... it really does look slick, doesn't it?

They are being shipped now. Some friend of mine have received theirs and so far the reports look good. Beware tho they only work on certain motors. Like the Terrova, V-2 and a couple others.

Very true, I have a new V2 so I'm good to go...just nervous to pull the pin on that spendy of a gadget without knowing for sure how it works...but then Cabela's is GREAT about returns!

I have read some great reviews from real fishermen, not those "pros" paid to endorse products.

I finally found a place that carries it here in Canada preinstalled...and for less than MSRP for both motor and I-Pilot.

That company is selling it for $400 cheaper than I can get it for locally...and no one even has it in stock here yet.

Thats going to be my Christmas present in the spring...oh rats that was supposed to be the 200HP Merc I just bought...oh well, I have been a good boy.
