Minn Kota Maxxum 55 Bow-Mount Trolling Motor

I am looking to purchase the subject for my 16' Crestliner. I know from experience the thrust will be adequate. Any comments about this model?

i recommended to Bill to go with the Motor Guide W45, wireless. i hate any unnessary thing on my decks, cables foot controls. and the key fob lets you control from anywhere in the boat.

The maxxum is a really nice motor, the maximizer works great, the weedless wedge is awsome, i have heard that it is very reliable, and i know that Minn Kota's customer service is excellent. The MotorGuide is also a excellent motor, it just depends on personal preference.

The maxxums are really great motors that are very reliable and the maximizer really does work.
In terms of a Maxxum versus a PowerDrive or Motorguide Wireless is really personal preference.
As a bass fisherman I like the cable controlled Maxxum the best because of the fast response of the cables versus the electric steering. But the nice thing about the electric steer is the ability to control the motor from anywhere in the boat.
