Does anybody have experience with the Minn Kota Trolling Motor Quick Release Mount? The newer style composite, not the older style aluminum. Pros/cons....suggestions please. Do they stay tight and are they easy to use?
Any composite component that has a snap-in/snap-out feature is going to wear in the latching mechanism. The cost is nearly double that of the aluminum plates and therefore in my opinion not worth the potential problems down the road. The aluminum plate is far sturdier and will last forever -- no moving parts.
