I have a MinnKota PD65, that is making a loud noise at the motor, and I noticed the cap and the wires are getting very hot. Hot to the touch. My question is, if the motor is going out, could that cause the unit to run hot. I have also noticed, I just put a new prop on the unit, and everytime I go in to check to see if fishing line or any other object may be caught in the prop, I would catch hell getting the prop off and the pin would break everytime. Any idea's

You should never run a TM out of water as this heats up the seal on the shaft...put a spot of this stuff on the seal each time you take the prop off .You must be running it out of water to hear it .
I would advise pulling the moror ..its only two bolts and checking it for water ...you may have to be a bit inventive to get the brushes back....thats what the loose card tube you find inside is for

Hey Bubba glad this one has no batteries in it !!!

I suspect Bubba1235 is correct, but sometimes you can get lucky and it is not the most expensive problem. Is that new prop touching against the motor at any point? Does it make contact when pushing toward the motor, assuming you might have some very slight play? Does it make the same noise with old prop? Rotating the prop by hand, does it feel like it is binding. You should feel slightly flat spots for when the poles align, but should be smooth and not binding.
