Have one of these on bass boat I just purchased. Think it's a mid to late 80's model. Stickers telling serial number and thrust/voltage are not on the head. Sent pics to Minn Kota to help determine what I have....no word back yet.

The TM plug is a 3 prong that fits into the bow console. The foot control goes up to 100%, but the speed at 100 % is slow and does not move the boat as fast as I think it should. One deep cycle battery is new and the other is at full charge.

Plug has been checked inside and connectors have been wire brushed (no corrosion).

Need a tech assist on what could be wrong....

Thanks! Keith

Re: MinnKota All Terrain Trolling Motor

If there are three wires (red, orange, black typically) running to the plug you very likely have a combination 12/24 volt motor. Is there a 12/24 selector switch on the foot pedal or motor head? If you use the 24 volt feature you need the batteries connected in series and feeding the red and black wires on the motor. One battery feeding the orange and black wires provides 12 volt operation. Does the boat have a 12/24/RUN/CHARGE switch on a separate panel at the bow? How are the two batteries wired? In series with two wires going up front, three wires going up front, or not connected at all but a separate pair of wires from each battery going to the switch panel up front. As you can see -- details, details, details.
