80lb V2 powerdrive w/ co-pilot and auto pilot.

The unit beeped and turned on with all speeds acounted for via remote, but the unit would not turn left or right. I then plugged the foot pedal in and disconnected the co-pilot, but received no response at all from the foot pedal. Any thoughts?

Is this a unit that you used last year? I have seen lots of trouble with the foot pedal switches and plug connections. if you can disconnect the turnig drive motor it will tell you what you have. check for 12 volts at the conection or power the motor directly. Bad corrosion in the plugs has stopped me a few times. I used a small plastic sleeve with steel wool pushed into it to clean each pin. BE SURE you get all the scraps out after you are done. There is a connection paste that will slow down the corrosion if you can find it to put on the pins and sockets. The foot switches aren't worth fixing because once they start to fail they get worse quickly. Be sure you are getting full voltage to the motor, low voltage can cause funny problems. I use Anderson connectorson all my stuff (50 amp ratting!!!)
