Below are two photos that depict the problem I am having.

I took the flywheel and some other stuff off in order to replace the bad wires going to the points. When reassembling, I couldn't recall where these wires went. Currently they are going to ground, any help would be great.

What year (or better, serial number) is your engine... post that up and I'll see if I can find a circus diagram...

Thank you!

That diagram does not show the wire coming from the timing advance arm, however.

I think the wire your talking about is the bond wire for points and goes from the spark advance arm swival screw to a self tapping screw that fastens the wire to the bottom of the stator. That is the wire that assures the ground between the stator and point carrier.

You are correct, I actually had the wiring correct all along, the problem was in another damaged wire off the stator. Well, she is up and running, my OEM service manual is in route. Thanks you guys, your help is invaluable.

Here is a photo of the motor, beautiful for the age, IMO.
