Misfire on 3cyl with Quickstart and Slow pack repair

There have been a few postings lately on pack repair. While this is not for everyone, some of us like to tinker.



For all who are interested, It took 5 minutes to open pack.



No damage to the pack, and no potting to remove



found 6 cracked solder joints.....all easily repaired




I wouldn't do this for a customer, but the pack will be used for future troubleshooting as a loner.

thanks schematic really good info. could you tell me how to get it apart without damage as i have a spare that has intermitten failure thank you for post and your help:joyous:

Hi Gents. I just cut all around with a hack saw (barely cut through the plastic) Then heat the plastic hot to the touch for 3-4 minutes. Panel lifts off. I use a jewelers loop to find the solder cracks. When you are done repairing and testing, cover the entire exposed surface with non-corrosive silicone caulking and reinstall panel. I have done several Merc's and a few Honda modules with complete success.
