I'm a first time boat owner so bear with me for a while.I have several questions concerning my motor.First I have been unable to find out the year of it .the model # is TRL-10R , also what is the point and plug gap for this model. I had trouble finding the type C lower unit lube and was wondering if there is something to substitute for type C ?
Now for my problem. I have a miss on # 1 cylinder and can't seem to get it out. The plug is wet with fuel but if I remove the plug wire I have a good blue spark. I've tried switching plugs and the problem always is on #1 cylinder .
Compression is 110 lbs on all three cylinders.
I guess I should have mentioned first thing that my motor is a 3 cylinder Johnson 55 H.P.
I have reset points to .010 ,they were .020,and gapped plugs to .035,checked rotor and plug wires and found nothing wrong. The miss stays with the motor at all r.p.m. levels. If I pull #1 plug wire off the motor smooths out ,replace wire miss is back. On the side of the motor ,near the throttle linkage there is a rubber disc about 1-1 1/2" in diameter with 2 brass disc behind it . What is this and what does it do?
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated
