Missing Model Number

Hi guys, I have a question for ya.
I bought this bass boat with a 140 johnson on it, I bought it just for the motor im going to put in on a 20ft cuddy cabin. So i tried it out on the bass boat and it didnt seem to have as much power as i thought it would. So I was looking for the model and serial numbers just to confirm the hp and the 2 places i was told to look they were missing. the plate was gone, u could see the two holes for it. the freeze plug didnt have the cap on it. I also have a 115 evinrude and the freeze plug has a cap on it saying 115 something. Anyhow is the freezplug suppose to have the cap on it and is there anywhere else it may be?

not to my knowledge. in Florida that motor would be considered stolen.

Thats what I figured, It was my moms friend boat so I didnt think she sell me something stolen. she probally bought it stolen and didnt know

The problem begins when you get inspected by a Fish and Wildlife officer. They may arrest you and impound the whole rig (boat, motor, trailer and the hauling vehicle). A real mess....

well, that is water under the bridge, let's figure out what he has, and get him running. start by posting pictures of the motor with cowl on and off, all sides details or the power head.
chances of getting caught are slim. but where are you does the motor have to be registered or titled?

If his handle "Austin" means Texas, then the motor is supposed to be titled.

yes, i know. several states are like that, Florida does not care about motors.
