I took the cover off of my 58' Fastwin and noticed that there was a major gas leak coming from what seems to be a screw hole and another threaded hole with nothing attached. I attached some pics so you can see what i am talking about. I would appreciate anyones input.

Re: Missing Parts?

The first picture is holes for attaching the electric choke on electric start models. Forget you ever saw them.

The second picture, marked gas leak, is the vent. It must be open, so don't even think about plugging it. Gas is squirting out because the float is not doing it's job. Or the float valve. Cure is to buy a carburetor repair kit from a dealer and take the carb apart and fix it. Buying the OEM kit from a dealer will get you a new alcohol-proof float. The original cork float is not alcohol proof and eventually ethanol will make it sink.

Not hard if you are comfortable around mechanical things. Now, I know a guy that it would completely befuddle. But he's a brain in the medical field. We all have our gifts.

I took the carb apart and it was amazingly clean , no residue or anything. The float floats "ok" when i tested it but i am going to replace it anyway along with the gaskets.
